Tunes For Trina

LostLonesomeIf you are a songwriter or an artist who has produced a pro-quality recorded project, you now have the awesome opportunity (and perhaps a responsibility) to use your God given talent to help a beautiful child here in our town. She could be from any town. Trina just happens to live here with her folks, who’s lives were changed in the blink of an eye when Trina began having prolonged seizures as a result of Anorexia. This 25 year old girl now requires 24/7 care. You can read all about her story at , but I would just like to let you know how your music can make a huge difference.

There are those in our musical family who may have the ability to just write a check. I regret that I am not one of those. But I have been given the gifts of music and a decent voice. It is my game plan during the next few months, to get local caring people to host an open house, where I will perform benefit concerts. Simple formula really. Mini fundraisers. They will invite about 20 friends and family over for coffee, cookies, and I will play a few tunes for Trina. Here is where you come in…

While I have performed at nearly every venue you can imagine, including hospital bedsides in military hospitals for the USO, I have never really had the finances to record a studio project. I did make a kitchen recording (practice tape) of a song I wrote with Tim Keesee, who I met on Tunesmith several years ago. Here is the link to that if you would like to have a listen.

trina-story3So my idea is to get my musical friends to donate 1 or more CDs to be offered to the house concert attendees after my performance. These can be new or gently used CDs of any genre’. I would set up a merchandise table in the back, with appropriate signage and a donation jar. Folks could pay what they want as a love offering, and all the money raised would go directly to Trina’s special needs trust for the construction of a handicap room addition and safe bathroom.

Of course your monetary donations will be most welcome, but if you would like to help in this way, just mail me a CD or several if you like. The address is:

George Ireton
2205 Hilltop Drive #2020
Redding, CA 96002

Now if you prefer, you can follow this model yourself. Just round up a few surplus CDs and do your own house concerts locally, then donate the proceeds through the fundraiser site. If you are not able to come alongside me with this effort, that is okay. Please consider sharing this post with your social media network with the sharing buttons below.
