Lessons For Life has readers from across the country and around the world. I welcome our new reader Sunny from Oregon and thank you for your inspiration over the weekend. What state do you live in? I don’t believe it is as important where you live as the state of your mind. The way you see things has much more to do with your perceived comfort than the place where you live.
You can see this point best in those who put themselves into extreme places because they control their mind so completely it overcomes the discomfort of the place. Think of the person who climbs Mt. Everest, competes in the Iditarod or my young friend Hunter who does long distance swims in 40 something degree water, in the ocean and without a wetsuit. Wherever your living room is, it is far more comfortable than this.
We all know people who have moved to another state or city because they thought it was where they lived that was determining their capability to be the person they want to be. How has that worked out for them? Did they find the new home to be the Emerald City with a horse of a different color? Sure, it may happen, but not if you take your bad attitude with you. Most likely there are witches living in that neighborhood also.
Make the best of who you are and where you are. You have to be in a better place in your head before you can be effective in moving to a better place to have your home.
