Lately I have made a few simple videos and placed them on various websites for clients. Actually this is a fairly simple procedure. It is somewhat complex in that there are several steps involved, but it is not complicated. That is to say that most people who can read and follow instructions can accomplish this. You don’t need a ton of expensive equipment. In fact my cell phone is an Incredible (and it is incredible), with 8 mega pixel resolution. For those who may not know what that means, it is simply an indicator of the quality of the image you can expect to get when you shoot a video or take a still photo. The more pixels, the higher the quality. Eight mega pixels is HUGE! Here is a video I made last fall when I took my grandsons out to Nash Ranch Pumpkin Patch.
There are certainly better cameras out there, like some of the DSLR ones. DSLR stands for digital single lens reflex. DSLR cameras use a mirror to reflect the image from the lens to the viewfinder, behind the mirror is a sensor. The sensor is what takes that light and interprets it as a electronic signal that shows up on your camera’s screen. Here is a link to an introductory video about DSLR cameras.
Whatever you use, I hope you give this a try. Just shoot a video and post it to Youtube or Vimeo. As always, if you need help with it, or want to add it to a website, just give me a call or contact me through the form on www.shastaconsulting.com
